In answer to your question….

Last week, as a follow-up to our lesson around curiosity and questions, Swift 2nd and 3rd graders wrote poems that “answer” the questions of what is where?  inside? next to? over the moon is….? We looked at the compact poem, “What’s Under the Sky?” by Kathi Mitchell, and students followed that up with some brainstorming and writing.  These may be our last poems to write together before our final meeting for the school year (2025- 26).  In Ms. Brist’s class we experimented with creating stanzas at each table using the  Model of Instruction (MOI) method; and hopefully we will have time to revisit the results during our final meeting. Even though summer is near, many students are really sprouting creativity with their words, NOW, and I hope they continue over the summer and beyond without my prompting!
