Anaphoras

As we continue exploring different forms of poems, we discussed the impact of using anaphoras in a poem. We looked at the impact of repetition in the poem “The Delight Song of Tsaoi-talee” and analyzed the metaphors the speaker used to affirm themselves. Students then reflected on their own personalities and histories and jotted down a few things they’d like to affirm about themselves. Here are a few of those poems below!

A.B.

I am like a cloud

I am a colorful butterfly

I am purple like a pretty butterfly

I am a daffodil

I am a little mermaid

Anna is great

A.V.

I am happy

I am love

I am like a cat

I am light blue like the sky

I am as calm as the beach

I am like Obi Wan Kanobi, but nice in the end
