Animal Poems (Kindergarten)

In Ms. Icho’s kindergarten today, we read “On Monday, I am a Dragon” by Francisco X. Alarcón. We talked about our favorite animals and what animals we sometimes feel like. We also talked about streeeeeetching our ideas to add more detail. Today, we practiced that by adding information about when we feel like a particular animal.

I feel like…

a tiger when I’m loud..ROOOOARRRR

a shark when I want to play with all my toys

a pig when I play with my toys

a pig when I help my mom make a lot of food and rice

a whale when I swim in the pool

a tiger when I run fast

an octopus when I go to the swimming pool

a hippo

a cat when I’m so cute

a panda when I could eat bamboo

a cat when I play together with my toys

a bunny when I play with toys

a bird when I fly fast

a silly pig when I watch TV and play games

a panther when I run and play

a cat when I play

a giraffe when I look outside my window

an octopus when I’m in the water

a tiger when I eat and jump
