Are you pink because you fell in the paint? — Animal Poems @Avondale-Logandale

The 4th and 5th graders at Avondale Logandale know all about metaphor and personification, and now we turn those skills to their own poems! Together, we’ve worked on poetic line and stanzas, too. This week we read Blake’s, Tyger, and considered his metaphor–that a tiger is so powerful, it seems as if it was made in a metal forge. Then I asked, what animal do you find amazing, and what sort of questions or metaphors would you create for it? As you can see below, the 4th and 5th graders have lots of ideas! Enjoy!
