We Wonder: “What’s under?”

It’s hard to believe that Ms. Leslie’s poetry residencies with Swift 2nd graders for the 2020-2021 school year have come to a close.  All of our lessons this year have been remote! Somehow, we have made a special relationship through imagination and word play, and sharing stories, thoughts, and feelings.   For our final session, we thought about how things are connected, and used prepositions such as inside, under, and next to, as gateways to writing new poems. Enjoy!

What’s in space
By Sijan A.

In space there are rocks
And more rocks
Then there is the sun
That is big
Then we see
Earth that is
2 times smaller
You see green and blue
In space
And you see
Other plants.

Legos
Bryan F.

On top of my shelf is a stack of legos.
Legos take me an hour to make.
Legos can be fun and make you happy.
On my chair are even more stacks of legos.
Every where in my house I have legos

Inside…
Gegeenkhuslen U.
