We are Super Heroes – Moos 3rd Grade – Winter 2020

During this session of the Chicago Poetry Center residency at Moos Academy, students stretched their imaginations to imagine themselves as superheroes.

Students were encouraged to imagine a world where they have more power to create change and do strange things.

I am a superhero,

I can teleport around the world.

I can read people’s minds.

I can go back in time.

I can move things around with my mind.

I can make my hair look like snakes.

I can move a person to another state.

I can go to another time.

I can make class go faster.

I am a superhero.

I can transform into a monster truck.

I can teleport to school.

Andrea

I’m a neon werewolf.

My power is  I take ten things and turn them neon!

Every time.

If I was hungry I would teleport blueberries,

and if I was rich I would teleport gold,

and turn it into neon gold.

If I was a superhero,

I would be an angel and go up to heaven.

I would also help the homeless,

and I would be the smartest person,

and I could have all the money in the world,

and I would have the power of teleportation.,

and be invisible so I can hide,

and I would change the weather.

If I was a superhero,

I would make toys for kids.

I would give food to the people who are homeless.

I would be a fast swimmer,

fly to save people,

make slim fast make kids happier faster,

I give homeless people water when they are thirsty,

and give money to people who need it.

If I had a secret power…

Luther

My superpower is changing sugar into strength.

If I had superpowers I would turn into a rock monster

and have the power of creation.
