Snowy day in Chicago

This week, poets at Poe Middle School in Ms. Agboola’s class wrote about a snowy day in Chicago. Read what they created.

Snow Days

One snowy day a

girl named Pat was getting

ready for school when her mom

named Cat called and told her it

was a snow day for school because

of the blizzard coming soon

at noon

1991 Snow

Jordan B.

6th grade

As it was 1991 I stood in the woods

The snow grew up and up and up and higher

I was in the woods before I got tired.

I went to town before the snow got higher.

As it was 1991 I stopped in the woods.

The snow grew up and up and up and higher

I was in the woods before I got tired.

I went to town before the snow got higher.

I like the snow but it makes me tired.

My friend came along but didn’t wanna stay

Because she said she needs air in her tire.

I went to bed but before, I ate some steak.

The steak was good but not as good as

the cake I ate all the food and it was

delicious. And may be good but not so nutritious

I had a great time but I gotta go.

To bed I may rest, may rest in woah.

Windy Chicago Day

Gabrielle B.

7th g.

It’s cold outside

the heat is on high

and everyone is

inside.

Birds are migrating

Squirrels are hibernating

and the Christmas lights

are growing.

It’s cold in Chicago

Everyone’s heats are  on

high. Most are inside.

Squirrels and birds left

for the winter.

Christmas lights are up.

And the Christmas spirit

is everywhere.

Somewhere, anywhere

Someone will see

Snowy days aren’t bad.
