When I Went to the Clouds

This week was all about dreams. We discussed the difference between daydreams and dreams that occur during sleep. Then we discussed what dreams mean when they are our desires and goals. Ms. Licea’s classroom was filled with dreams of all types this afternoon! After taking turns reading an excerpt of Carole Boston Weatherford’s “Which Way From Dreamland?”, students wrote their own dream poems!

One day I was dreaming

I went to the clouds.

I wonder how they feel

Do they feel fluffy or

soft?

I wonder how it looks like

Does it look blue

and white? Is there a lot

of birds?

One dream was how

I became a soccer player and

it was cool and exciting and

kinda fun and funny and

I scored the winning point

and I was happy

as we won the game

because I scored and it

was a cool dream but then

I woke up
