To All The Plushies I’ve Loved Before

Hello from Day two of Camp Sabin! Today, we warmed up playing a riveting game of A Cold Wind Blows and Four Corners before diving into our writing time. After a few rounds of I Spy, students wrote their own top secret poems with accompanying pictures. Together, we guessed what each poem might be about. Later, we read “Praise To The Bus Ride” by Davon Clark and wrote odes to people, places, or things that meant a lot to us. Then, we made papers with drawings of the things we were “fans” of. Saludo a la amabilidad

de mi tia Yennifer

Ella nos hacia reir

No compraba cosas

me regolo una muñeca

Saludo a Lisa

me gusta dormir con ella

y abrazarla

y me tranquiliza

saludo a la ropa azul

que se parece a la mia

saludo a mi sobrina Sofia

me hace reir bailar conmigo

y jugamos con mi muñeca.

Happiness, the thing I love

Happiness is like the things you have

Luse is a positive plushie

Happiness is what she uses to calm

she sounds sooooooooooooooo

mad but also happiness but she is mad!

We love being together

I love my family when they’re kind

I love helping my great-grandma

and my mom do stuff and cook

our family loves Bad Bunny and it’s

apart of our culture

I love my stuffed animal

and mom’s friend that died
