Snaps for Student Success!

Last Friday fourth graders were filled with fire, fun, and fabulous poetry because Shoesmith held a school- wide Poetry Slam! Organized by Ms. Lane, the Poetry Slam theme was “The Future We Want, The Future We Deserve.” Presented in two sections: Kindergarten- 2nd grade and 3rd – 6th grade, student poets took to the stage to recite their own poems in front of an audience of teachers, students, family, and friends. The event was a great success! I’m glad I was there to witness students’ inspiring words and courageous delivery. (And, of course, to loudly snap and clap my support!) Thank you to Ms. Lehner for working on our alliteration lesson with group 1 on another day.
