Queen Zee’s Poetic Adventures: Episode 2 Poems

At the beginning of this month, we shared poems written by G.B. Vico students in response to the first episode of Queen Zee’s Poetic Adventures. This time, we are sharing poems written by these same students as they watched the second episode of Queen’s Zee’s Poetic Adventures. In Episode 2, Queen Zee, played by Poet in Residence Leslie Reese, led students to write poems about their identities. In her own poem, Queen Zee shared that her eyes are from infinity and that her spirit originates from a ray of light igniting stardust. Henry, Queen Zee’s robotic friend, also shared a student poem by Jamari H., who wrote about his shining brown eyes that come from his mother and his kindness that comes from his aunt.

I have the laugh of my mom
She is the Moon.

She is Venus.
I am as stubborn as my grandpa,
He is Saturn.
I have the imagination of my other granny,
She is the Galaxy.
I love my family: the Planets of the Universe.

And I come from a place
