Poemas Borrados/Erasure Poems

This week, the students at Volta looked at various examples of erasure poems, poems that are created by crossing out or drawing over parts of an existing text to reveal a poem. They then chose either a short fable or a song and drew a circle or highlighted the words that stood out to them in each. Finally, they isolated their poems by “erasing” the rest of the text with other images or colors. Though students created poems using the same two texts, they ended up with distinctive and original poems. Here are just a few!
