Good Luck Family

For today’s poetry camp at Sabin, we played a favorite warm up game (“Why were you late to work?”) before settling into our poems about luck. Did you know that many consider today’s date, 7/7, to be a lucky one? We talked about our lucky numbers and colors before reading “Good Luck Gold” by Janet Wong. While the poet talks about lucky gold jewelry, we discussed other things that can be lucky – like people! Students wrote their good luck poems and then made their own good luck bracelets, cause it’s not really summer camp without making bracelets 🙂 After that, we had a very musical afternoon with Ms. Musu’s lesson on poems and music, which included a lot of singing along to KATSEYE songs.
