This week in Ms. Murray’s 4th grade class we read My Dad by Ashley Bryan. We talked about how the short lines of the poem helped to give it a rhythm, and while it wasn’t a very long piece, it still packed a punch! Students shared so many stories about their own family members that they admire. Grandmas, abuelos, mom’s and dad’s, younger siblings, even cats and dogs who are considered part of our family. After a bit of brainstorming they got to work on their own poems celebrating a family member. Enjoy this week’s poems!

Luna Wyatt

The sun and moon
can’t stand you
the world spins because of you Luna.

My Adorable Dogs: Tuly, Dahly, Canelo, Zeus Hector S.Y.

No other dogs can jump as high as mine.
They can bark for fifteen seconds straight.
No other dogs can run fast like my dogs.
They were so cute when they were babies.
They used to go to sleep anywhere they want.
They used to take our toys and bite them.
No other dogs are funny like them.
No other dogs are playful like them.
No other dogs are energetic like them.
