Dancing is Like Victory: Similes at Avondale Logandale Elementary

This week the 4th graders and I worked on comparisons… why wouldn’t you say the wall is like the wall? Well, they are exactly the same thing! Similes make our brains pop by finding similarities between different things. The 4th graders came up with a lot of cool ideas which you can read below:

4th Grade

A feather is like a tickle machine
A bird sound is like a radio
The color yellow is like the bright sun
The library is like a sleeping baby
A fan is like a big storm
A stick is like a skinny person

The schools is like the Sears Tower
