A Moment In Time
Although life does not stop and fleeting moments are quickly replaced by the next, students at Vaughn took some time during our session to reflect on some of their most memorable moments. After reading “First Fall” by Patricia Guzman, we identified the imagery in the poem and how it added to the recalling of the speaker’s memory they wanted to share with someone who was not there to experience. The poets began to reflect on moments they wished they could have shared with another, and wrote a poem about it. Here are some of those moments pictured below!
“For Destiny” by S.S
I saw a gift,
it was a doll
there were birthday balloons above me
the sound of my family singing happy birthday,
music
a scent of chocolate cake
I felt happy.
“For Daniella”
people playing soccer
a lot of people cheering
birds tweeting
cars moving
i want her to see
how hard working I am
