7th Grade- New Words Pt. 1

This week we read Jose Olivarez’s piece Hecky Naw and talked about words we love to use that are part of our identities. Students had a great time discussing slang, and local Chicago words you might not hear in other places. We’ll be posting a few more of these next week as students continue to work on them. But for now, enjoy this week’s poets!

Gangasaur Eummanni G.

And there’s no need to debate
no need to decipher
