Our Wild Seasons (5th)

In honor of the fact that we’ve had every season all at one time in Chicago this week, we talked about our favorite seasons. We read Nikki Giovanni’s “Knoxville, TN” and talked about what specific details she chose to describe her childhood summers. We brainstormed details to tell our specific experiences of the seasons.

Spring

–Nihal

I like spring the best.

The trees bloom and wake

hello. I like how the

flowers come out

of nowhere and we pick

them so we can make

flower boquets. The way

spring break says hello to

those tired kids. How it’s not too

cold and not too hot. My birthday

waits for me in the summer.

Goodbye winter hello spring!

Spring

–Ubaidah

I also really like spring

Because you can pick up

so beautiful flowers on the

green grass and smell

them.

And it can be so warm

and can see the

shining yellow

bright sun.

And the cotton candy

looking soft white clouds.

And can

east a lot of

ice cream outside and play

outside too!

Snow

–Brandon

I always like it when it’s snowing

outside and when I wake up

cold under many pillows and

blankets

and tired, turning on the tv

on youtube while playing on

my phone.

little later I play on

my PS5.
