Kindergarten Sound Poems

In Ms. Icho’s Kindergarten, we learned some 4th grade ideas today! We talked about similes, and how we can compare two TOTALLY different things. The kids put on their big kid thinking caps and did an amazing job! We didn’t write individual poems, because they had an exciting career day speaker coming, so instead they wrote this wonderful class poem together. Enjoy!

I hear

Beads clapping like hand and feet and clicking tongues.

Doors closing like squeeeek like cats or BAM like thunder.

Vents blowing like wind or fans or blowing out birthday candles.

Ms. Icho’s angelic voice like chimes, a hissing cat, a car, clapping beads, or a piano in the orchestra.
