I am… (7th Grade)

Metaphors allow us to transform ourselves, if just for a moment. The 7th graders of Clinton asked themselves what they could become after we read “The Delight Song of Tsoai-talee” by N. Scott Momaday. Upon exploring what metaphors were, students then created their own to describe themselves in new and exciting ways. Profound, fun, serious, and wacky, students reflected on what becoming animals, foods, ideas, and objects said about their inner selves.

“El Mundo Sin Sentido?”
by Eddizon M.

El mundo sin sentido?
un humano entre todos?
uno encima del otro?
un perro contra un gato como Tom y Jerry
peliandose porque quieren ser el mejor.

Un metiorito tratando de acabar con el
mundo?
Soy una roca bajo tierra?
como un pez bajo el aqua?
un arbol sin hojas y manzanas.
El mundo sin sentido no?
