Factory of Fun Ideas Pt. 2

Swift 2nd graders filled my heart with so much warm holiday cheer during our 6th visit together. Students made wonderful greeting cards for me, with lots of creative artwork and positive messages! Thank you so much! I’m going to get a nice scrapbook to keep them in, so they don’t get wrinkled and lost! 🥰🥰

This week one group read poems aloud for their classmates, while students in another group worked together to write a “Swan of Bees” poem. See “Factory of Fun Ideas Pt. 1” to read “Swan of Bees” poems written by Mr. McCaster’s class (formerly Ms. Popovic’s). Happy holidays everyone!

Can You Imagine?(a group poem)
by Ms. Amato’s 2nd Grade Class

Can you imagine….

If it rained bananas?
If everything was made of water?
If the whole earth was one big cheeseburger?
the ground would be a giant bun.

What if….

trees lived indoors and we lived
outdoors?
If I could be zapped through a portal
just by thinking about it!

Can you imagine….

If I poured 1 million peppers
into a giant bowl?
If you could jump into the sky
and the clouds were made of
cotton candy and you could eat them?

What if everything was made of candies:
like sour patch kids and chocolate
and Kit Kats?

What if houses were made of reindeer?

What if….

the universe is a face?
What if everything you look at turns
into cats?

What if we ate poetry cereal
for breakfast?

What if when you go to sleep your dreams
came true?
