Affirmation + Shout out Week

Dever’s 7th graders had an affirming week back. After an extra long break for due to CPS’s pauses was one focused on grounding the classes back into the learning we have done together. We shared pieces we are proud of and offered each other affirmations. Below are pieces students shared and continued to develop.

Life Selection

By. Szymon D

Too many steps in the wrong direction

Running just to find protection

My mind is full of memories

like a collection

Wrong choices the wrong selection

looking back at myself like a reflection

losing a lot of people redirection

I feel the sudden pain in my midsection

Dead.

Into a new realm I go

Into a world unknown

Another car I pass

Don’t look don’t crash

Out of the action I lash

Give em’ whiplash

Till I’m a stat

I’ll take and make my part

I’ll make my mark

Like I’m Tony Stark

Because till I’m that, far

I move up like I’m in car

One mind down to the core

Action I need more!

Here I finally and final run,

The finish is here goes done!
