6th Grade- Where We Gather Pt. 2

Here’s a few more poems by our Foster Park 6th graders inspired by Joy Harjo’s “Perhaps This is Where the World Ends”.

Lunch Table

Kenidee F.

At the lunch table we talk and gossip

The conversations are so funny, secrets

told, someone’s bad, eating food while talking

talking, expressing, telling stories, interesting, funny

after the talk, we just play

hand games, cool, fun, better than none

we’re just having fun.

Kitchen Table

Sharad P.

When I’m at the kitchen table I sleep

When I’m at the kitchen table I play my game

When I’m at the kitchen table I watch the game at the computer

When I’m at the table I eat, the food be good.

When I’m at the table, I play spades with my uncle.

When I’m at the kitchen table I cry.

Thing is the kitchen table isn’t only about eating you can

do a lot of things at the kitchen table.
