6th Grade- Name Poems

A rose is a rose is a rose… This week our 6th graders got to writing about names. We talked about how our names fit or don’t fit our personalities, how they’re often mispronounced and all of the unique meanings they have. Students did a little research online to see if they could find more information about the meaning of their names and then got to work. Enjoy this week’s poet!

My Name

Alana Sanders

My name is like winter because it’s precious and calm

My name is yellow and peaceful like the sun

My name sounds like a piano and water

My name is a baby deer because it’s like a rain forest
