Writing From Joy

For our 4th FORA session, we talked about writing from a place of joy. To me, there’s no better example than the wonderful Ross Gay. We read “Sorrow Is Not My Name” together, digging into the layers of images and small delights among some not-so-delightful images. Then we began to write about the things that bring us joy. For FORA students, that list included summer, fruits, our pets (budgies in particular), prime drink, and our friends.
