Wishes and Sueños

Today first graders at Brennemann imagined a world they would want to live in. Would you want to live in these worlds of wishes and dreams?

[Note: Each poem is a collaboration between students and teachers, created by collecting a few words from every student in the class. When we read the poem out loud together, students will come up with a title to add to our collaborative poem.]

Ms. Armand 1st Grade

I wish for? Group Collaboration

I wish for the world to be made for me, the boss first grader.

I wish for a pink whole city with a pink house and pink cake.
I wish for a white tree.

I wish I could go to Japan and watch sumo wrestling.
I wish to go to Disneyland.

I wish that I can be rich and have a poodle puppy.
I wish for a cute cat to take care of.

I wish to have a human lion with 4 tentacles and 2 heads.
(One of my brothers has 11 heads and 4 arms.)

I wish for a rainbow land with unicorns next to the stars in the sky.

I wish for the world to be made for me.

Ms. Cooley 1st Grade

Dreaming wishes Group Collaboration

In my dreams,
quiero estar con mi familia—
I have me and my mom
—y mi papá puede volar
sobre mi casa y mi familia.

En mis sueños,
mi mamá cocina carne con sopa
—I wish for my dad—
my mom is dreaming of a candy world,
a chocolate, candy, unicorn world,
a chocolate chip cookie world.

I would have a candy world—
with rainbow candy sparkles all over the world!
I wish all of the people were made of candy.

I see a cotton candy tree,
and no bugs—
except for caterpillars, butterflies, and bees
—and no spiders!

I want a unicorn world!
I would have a unicorn,
and I would sit on the unicorn and fly—
I wish for a unicorn with cars.

In my dreams,
I be having fun, watching YouTube
—I have a rainbow—
I like to color in my dreams.

I wish to see a SpongeBob world—
a whole entire school world
with a bunch of teachers
—and i’m the boss.

I wish this whole world were mine.
