Mr. Reinholdt 7th Grade
Where I’m’ from
the cars zoom by like dragonflies
as the big bright street lights shine
where family is only one step away
where I can taste food from feet away
As I step through the wood door a
whole world opens before my eyes
siblings run playing with one another, food
awaits at the god sent dining table
A movie plays in the background
I walk through my doorway that leads to my room
and drift off to sleep on my soft fluffy bed
I wake up and hear the pitter patter on my window
And I know a new day has started.
I come from a place that
is calm.
Always hard to find parking.
When I go outside I can
hear the train from
afar.
I come from a place that
is calm.
I see people walking
to church and coming back
home.
I come from a place that
is calm.
Smelling gas from cars
that don’t even have
people inside.
I come from a place that
is calm.
Going outside for a
walk hearing the leaves
rustle, every step I take.
I come from a place
that is calm.
Going inside my cozy
home after a long
day at school. Hearing
my mom cook for me.
I come from a place
that is calm.
Everytime I leave
the house my mom
always keeps me safe with
the sign of the cross.
I come from a place
that is calm.
