What We Love

This week in Ms. Murray’s 4th grade class, we read “Honey, I Love” by Eloise Greenfield and talked about all the things we love and don’t love. Some students noticed that the poem was similar to an ode, but instead of writing about just one thing, the author wrote about several things and celebrated each one and it’s unique qualities. Students then created a list of likes and dislikes. We talked about the similarities and differences between the things we loved, and how to create meaningful details about each thing they wrote down. After creating their list, students picked at least 5 things and got to work on writing an “I Love Poem” of their own. Enjoy this week’s poets!

Things I don’t love.
Going to school, doing homework
after my birthday.

de mis amigos y familia

I Love Wendy C.

I love family, friends, dogs, a whole
lot of things.
Like,
going to my cousin’s house and cats

But I dislike lots of other
things,

Mexican food.
I dislike not having roblox, and slime, and robux
I like my cousin’s dogs, and dislike
not seeing them and not going to
his house
I also dislike fake friends and worst of
all, I dislike death.
