What do you hear?

What sounds do you hear at home, outdoors, at school, or at work? Are the sounds happy? Exciting? Surprising, or Sad? This is what Swift 2nd graders were exploring the last time we got together. Before coming up with their own poems, students brainstormed a list of sounds they often hear Bong! Clang! Crash! and zzzzzzzz made the list, as did songs, and sounds of blenders, violins, birds chirping, leaves rustling, babies crying, and grease sizzling. What sounds would you add to this list?
