I don’t like bananas because
when I was 4 i saw a banana. I ate it.
I didn’t see it, but there was
something red
And I ate it.
When I spit it out in the trash,
it tasted gross.
That’s why I don’t like it anymore.
Next time, I will look
before I eat. The
banana.
Maybe next time I will like it.
Maybe.

Our prompt was “food we don’t like or things that make us laugh!” I brought in a poem book that had the word “rat” in it and that cast the whole class under a spell, and everyone just wanted to write about rats!
Here’s the poem we wrote together about rats:

Rats are descusting
just like carrots
one time, rats tried to kill me!
my sister said “Aw, it’s cute”
I said “No it is NOT. you are wrong.”
Rats keep me occupied
I just hope rats don’t get my
sister next
Rats are fun
When I was 4 years old, I had a pet rat
a rat is funny
My rat’s name is tim
my rat is a friend
My rat is friendly
I saw a Rat in my bathroom
I saw a rat in my room
My mom throw a shoe
My mom got scared of a rat
I saw a rat eating an orange
