The Places We Come From

For our last session at Jordan, 6th graders explored the people, places and things that represent where we come from. We opened up with an activity where students created their own paint chips based on colors that were important to their lives. (For example, taki red or peach orange). Then, we read an “I Am From” poem written by then-15-year-old Rockelle R. Students ended with writing their own I Am From poems…take a look below!
