The Colors of Kozminski

Last week, Kozminski students dabbled in personification. Together, we practiced giving human-like qualities to non-living things then had a great conversation about our favorite colors. We then tried personification by brainstorming as many yellow things as we could think of. After making a big list of school buses, bumblebees, and cheese, students then got to write about their favorite colors. It was so hard choosing a few poems to publish this week; be sure to check out a few great ones below:

4th Grade

Black Micah T.

Black is scared of the dark alleyways.

Black covers his ears from the loud black crows.

Black loves the smooth jazz.

Black loves to pick the fresh blackberries.

Black wears his black durag every night.

Black likes their coffee black.

Black likes to taste the cold blackberry slushes.

Black is smooth like the savory silky black material.

Black loves to go to the family function just for the food.

Black loves to eat the black part of the Oreos.

Pinky Jamia H.

Pinky smells the bubblegum.

Pinky hears raspberries.

Pinky sees flamingos.

Pinky eats strawberries.

Pinky feels covers and shoes.

5th Grade

Red Toriano J.

Red has a fast car

Red likes to go out and play with his friends

Red has an SRT Hellcat Charger

Red is in the 11th grade

Red gets his haircut

Red likes to go to the beach with his mom and dad

Red eats candy

Red plays baseball

Red has long hair

Red likes to play Warzone

Red has a xbox

Red is on the baseball team

Green SemaJ G.

Green wakes up to the sound of frogs and crickets each day.

Green smells of blades of grass and leaves for trees rustling in the wind.

Green looks at alligators and snakes at the zoo.

Green loves eating limes and key lime pie.

Green feels his pet chameleon and pairs of Nikes.

Green loves to take care of trees in his backyard.

Red Beckett D.

Red flies around and chirps like a cardinal

Red is warm like a blanket

Red is as sweet as Kool-Aid

When red speaks it is so loud it sound like it revs an engine

Red spends lots of time in the fall leaves

Red picks apples in its spare time

Red slips onto your foot when you leave the house

Red wiggles all the time

Red smells like jam when it eats toast

Red is bright when it becomes the evening

Red shouts like a fire truck and people always get out of the way
