Group A Middle School
My Spring Break,
spent sleeping
and playing games.
Chess outside
in the sun.
Eating food fresh
off the grille, burning
my mouth, but not
caring.
Spring Break is only a week,
and gone in a flash.
My Spring consists of staying up,
and going to see my family.
Playing football and having fun.
My cousin Kevaughn is six months
older than me,
we play football together.
Lots of trees in Mississippi,
it’s very warm, with
some flowers.
My blood is black and hard.
I can’t move, it’s hard to breathe.
I keep getting hit in the gut,
but I can’t care.
I’m wrecking myself,
Slowly falling into my shadow.
the light flickers—darkness,
I can’t see, no longer
human.

Group B Middle School
My break is the universe,
with endless possibilities.
Watch TV, play games,
the activities are fun.
Cleaning, sweeping,
the activities are helpful,
powerful and interesting.
The activities are inspiring.
Planning for New Mexico,
focused on the present.
The break is great,
I just hope it doesn’t end.

The sun is out, the cacti are moist.
Hurricane Harbor is near.
The Phoenix Zoo we are heading to,
the sky is blue.
Pools are out
like Canadians say Uot.
March Madness is on TV,
It is making money.
Listen to music with my dad
on a YouTube tab.
This year on Spring Break
I would play games every day.
And eat my favorite food away.
While not going to school today.
I wish this Brillant week would stay.
I’m going to Seattle, to have some fun.
I hope I can go record shopping.
Start hopping over to my hotel room.
I could read some books,
try some new looks.
Call some people,
Say “hello” and “please don’t go.”
At the end of the day I go to sleep,
Just to have fun all over again.
Spring Break is not that long.
It’s a time to chill when school
and work brings its worst.
Day One: Such Fun
Day Two: Fun too.
Day Three: Relaxing
Day Four: Doing nothing all day
Day Five: Still relaxing
Day Six: Still Chill
Day Seven: that’s when you realize
it’s almost over.
The nightmare shall begin again.
So, you decide to go out, having
the time of your life, but by the end
of the day, it restarts again,
the sadness resumes.
Play with a friend,
make sure the friendship won’t end.
Go to a store,
maybe by the shore.
Craft with leather
maybe write with a feather.
Watch Star Wars,
make the home run soar.
Share memes with group chat,
make a hat?
For Spring Break, here is what I might do.
I will play Geometry Dash until I win,
(which might take the whole week)
I will tell my friends my friends that
I downloaded Omega and deleted it,
(as a joke).
I will sue my new phone carrier
and invest the money.
I will waste three whole days,
then realize its Sunday.
Spring Break of Finance,
“Good the –I forgot, totally
Geometry Dash”
“Totally ADHD.”
