Sounds of Our School and Neighborhood (Kindergarten)

Today in Ms. Icho’s kindergarten class, we talked about our five senses and then focused on sound. We read a poem by a second grader about sounds and even learned a big word, onomatopoeia. Each student wrote one line of our class poem, and then we put them together. The kids did a great job and had so many fun ideas!

Sounds of Our School and Neighborhood

I hear the teachers talking with each other blah blah blah
I hear the timer sound saying ting ting
I hear there is a fire drill in school like ting ting
I hear teacher sounds blah blah.
I hear a timer saying ding ding ding
I hear a person who is talking with love say “I love you”
I hear the kids upstairs boom! boom! boom!
I hear the fire drill ring ring ting–TALK!
I hear the teacher going outside in her car vroom vroom
I hear the teacher talking blah blah blah
I hear Ms. V saying “Sit down–no talking!”
I hear the timer go ding ding ding ding ding
I hear the timer beep beep
I hear the cars beep beep…Vroom
I hear IXL on the ipad BING BING
I hear the timer ding ding
I hear people talking
I hear a door shutting SLAM
I hear a cat meow
I hear a person talking and a plate blah blah blah
I hear kids saying “hi!”
I hear donner
I hear a cat saying meow
I hear a car crash and papers and someone sleeping zzzzzzz
I hear me and my sister in the pool while it’s raining splash splash
I hear the rain puh puh puh
