Simile Speed-Run

Similes are hard so we are still keeping at it and trying to practice. After splitting into three groups (Team Purple Flower, Team LilyNicole, and Team Alxa) the poets created a master list of smilies racing to see which group could create the most amount of smilies. Below is the poem from the winner of our speed-round (and only by a hair- 2 more smilies than all the other teams!) Congrats to Team Purple Flower.

Similes Milania and Olivia

A rainbow is as colorful as a kite.

Friends are as inseparable as glue.

Miss Christie is as beautiful as a flower.

A computer is as knowledgeable as a governor.

An octopus has as many legs as a spider.

An elephant is as big as an airplane.

This char is as hard as a rock.

The smart board is as smart as a mathematician.

The light is bright like the sun.

A carpet is as soft as a fluffy dog.

Space is as large as one million schools.

The sky is as blue as the ocean.

Earrings are as shiny as a diamond.

Candy is sticky like slime.

Our love is as strong as 100 men.

Hair is as silky as a spider web.
