Revisions!

This was our second-to-last class! The students had the fantastic idea of creating a poetry yearbook to remember our year together! Today we worked on creating and decorating our final revisions for the yearbook. Here are a few of the student revisions:

Ms. Carteno 6th Grade

Braces Grace

I woke up..
I am a sunset in a sea of pain.
I feel like a pool as people dive in.
I am of what’s next.
I try to be tough like a cactus trying to keep its water.
I go into it excited but get hit with the truth!
like a daisy in the forest before being picked.
I look as a big as a tree but feel so small.

Belonging Logan

I am one of the chairs
at a dining
table,

the relaxed
blue
in a rainbow.

I am the
couch of the
furniture.

a rhombus
with
quadrilaterals

but without
home or family.

I am a sunflower
with roses,

a knife with
spoons

a boat with cars,

I am a
soldier
with crooks.

Love Poem Natasha

Una hermana ángel
tan salvaje tan feroz.
Hablas con una actitud,
pero todavía te amo.
Alertas cuando algo
está cerca, incluso si
ese algo no nos hará
daño.
Receives golosinas,
vienes por mas.
Pero, ¿dejarás de
rascar la puerta
principal?
