Playing With Haikus at Darwin

This week at Darwin, we read some haikus together and talked about form, how they are from Japan, and how Issa wrote not 100, not 1,000 but 20,000 haikus in total! We experimented with counting out words & syllables, and here’s some of the poems we came up with this week

A fish on the ground
the water comes but doesn’t reach the fish
so the fish put himself in the water
happiness for the fish
