Perspective Poems at Darwin

This week at Darwin, we explored how we can find poems in ordinary things, from tables to trees. We then wrote poems from the perspective of some funny, beautiful, or interesting things we see every day.

Jump Rope Karen

I’m a jump rope I’m exciting
I need a break cause I work a lot
I feel tight when they tie me
I always feel dizzy from going up and down
my best friends are a snake because they are wobbly

My Cat Zuri

I feel lonely when the giants that feed me go away.
I don’t know why those giants let me outside
When the biggest giant reads to the little giant, I go under the blanket
The little giant always plays with me
I am hungry all the time
The food that I get is delicious
I bite sometimes but most of the time I don’t

Untitled Isabella

My water bottle’s sad because I drink water from it
and put stickers on it
and I open his head
to put water in his head
