PATCH: Acrostic Poems on our Heroes and More!

Students created Acrostic Poems from names of superheroes, human heroes, and more!  An Acrostic is a poem in which the first letter of each line spells out a word, name, or phrase when read vertically.

“True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.” — Arthur Ashe

Iron Man by Owen O.

Intelligent billionaire with a heart of gold,

Roaring through the sky, courageous and bold.

Outperforming enemies with high-tech gear,

Never backing down or showing any fear.

Metal suit gleaming like a bright light,

Avenger defending the world with all his might,

Now and forever, a hero in the fight.

Darth Vader by Milo M.

Darkness cloaked in a black disguise

Attacking the name of the noble Jedi

Rasping breath shrouded in a respirator

Torch thrown into the hearts of those he loved

Heartless betrayal in his yellow eyes

Venom from a viper coursing through the veins of his enemy

Awe-inspiring red streak cutting through your resolve

Devastated and scarred skin shielded from sunlight with a gruesome mask

Enraged with hatred for those who wronged him

Relinquishing his grip only when his victim is lifeless
