Ode Poems

This week we wrote Ode poems! We started off by talking about all of the everyday things we take for granted in our lives, and having those moments of realization about how essential and important they actually are. While ode poems can be written to people, places, and big ideas, we focused on those everyday objects that also deserve some recognition and praise! Enjoy this week’s poem by 3rd grader Noah who made some great use of rhyme in his piece.

When I have my phone
I am as happy as my football cone

I don’t have a football cone
Nor am I a football cone
But I am happy
when I have my phone
