Moving Day

This week, poets at Poe Middle School in Ms. Agboola’s class viewed Norman Rockwell’s painting Moving In and we explored what we thought happened in the next scene. Here’s what they wrote.

Moving Day Ernest B.

5 kids are meeting

5 unlikely friends

2 new friends

3 white boys

2 black kids

2 dogs

When the kids

are free

they will do

whatever kids their

age does

Moving Briella C.

It’s a sunny day and

people are moving in.

There’s truck, houses, chairs.

The people who are moving in

are Jackie and Sara with

their cat snowball. The other

people are Tommy, Billy, Emily, and

their cat Fluffy.

They don’t are getting ready to play

baseball. But Tommy didn’t really

like the bat but he still went.

Life Quali B.

Stars, the moon

the sky is so beautiful

It’s like a dream

children running around, playing

having a good time

from the court to playing in the park

kids and adults coming together as one

rejoicing and thanking for another chance at life

chilling out and having fun.
