Love Poems!

We read Matthew Olzmann’s “Mountain Dew Commercial Disguised as a Love Poem” in class and loved the specificity and humor! Many of us said that being so specific about someone you love was a way to really see them! Ms Carteno also busted out some amazing poems of her own this week! Here are a few of our love poems:

Ms. Carteno Class 1

My Imaginary Friend Ranchard

I love friends. You’re the only friend I got in imagination.
Your spikey hair is geometry dash spikes. The eyebrows and eyes
are utopia geometry. The nose is artistic.
The teeth is cartoonish. The shirt and pants description
is a band in space. The crocs have Japan-crafted
patterns.

The Comfort of Your Licks Genesis

Here’s what I’ve got. Reasons why I love
coming home home to see you. I love how you play with
your toys but love playing with your tail more. And how you
love jumping in the snow and love biting my shoes. And the
way you bite your treats and break your toys.
But what I love the most you always greet me
at the door. You’re the best dog I could have.
