I ate like a dolphin under the sea.
I ate the candy like a toy bulldozer
in the couch sitting like a pile of dust
watching the tv like a fish in a tank
and full like a panda eating bamboo
but lazy like a koala but laughing like
a hyena, slept on the couch like a folder.
I dreamed like a baby.
I drifted
around
the corner
got in the elevator
and I went down
the ramp, sped
down the sidewalk,
got on the bus,
went home. Today
was a good day like
someone won the lottery
I went to bed like the fall of Rome
in a quiet realm of night, I surrender
to pillows as soft as a crumbling nation.
Dreams unfurl, beneath the canopy of darkened skies
the night unfolds, my epic demise,
my eyelids fall like an ancient pillar
as my breath flickers like the torch.
An angry mob.
I got my license yesterday.
I was in a movie
about to step in mud,
a kid from a dog.
Someone cut onions.
I had money.
