If I were an animal…

In Ms. Budzelini’s 8th grade class, we read “How to Triumph like a Girl” and thought about the way the poet was able to show us new parts of her personality through the metaphor of a horse. The students thought about what animal would be a metaphor for the parts of them that not everyone sees.

Busy Bee Analisa O

The bee flies from one flower to another pollinating

all the growing plants it can.

I like the bees best in the insect world. Buzzing around everywhere at once zipping through

the garden of fruits and flowers.

I think about the responsibility the tiny but important

bug must do to survive. I think about how no matter

how tiny the bee is they never go un-noticed. Either for

its sting, or its buzz.

Just like an ant Christian A

An ant is how I feel

ants always work hard how I do too.

An ant always brings gifts to their queen

just like how I love to give.

An ant cares and loves their queen the most

how I love and care about the people

in my life. Ants love giving affection to their queen

like how I love giving affection. Ants

are small on the outside but have a big personality on the inside.

The Sun Shines Bright Alexander

As I emerge from my cocoon

I look for food in a bright array of daisies. The sun

burning bright, its light guides

me. Soon enough the rain starts

to pour. Looking for shelter under

a leaf, I start to flutter. Late the

sun shines bright once again. I am

able to guide myself through the field.

I spread my wings once again.
