Where I’m From Poems- 7th Grade

What is home and what’s it mean to you? How have you been shaped by the place or many places that you’re from? This week Foster Park 7th graders had a chance to talk about this in their poems. They focused on using the five senses as a way to generate ideas for their pieces and painted a picture with words.

7th Grade

I Come From Arieana B.

I come from hot days
From lots of trees and animals
I’m from the smell of food in the morning
From curly hair and candy
My friends would go to the park with me till dark
I come from going to beaches in Florida every summer
From taking the bus with kids to school

I'm From Eummani G.

I come from bunk beds
And sharing a room with my sister
I come from PBS Kids and
ramen noodles for dinner
I come from walking to places
even in the middle of winter
I come from taking the train and Lord knows
It was a pain

Parties Jaeda W.

I come from Paulina
where we dance
at Juke parties to Herbo
Sammy- Fendi- Chief Keef
And listen to Mouf and
Faneto. Where me and my
cousins be, the park,
we have to be home by
dark.

I Come From Ra'Drell J.

I come from Foster Park
from the uniform and
level O in the hallways
of my school with a panther
as a mascot

From the nasty food
To the no phone in class
and the try hard
and the want to be’s
and doing all the sports you want to.
