How We Give

Last week was Thanksgiving and the 3rd-5th grade poets of Hale Elementary celebrated by reading and writing poems about giving. Together we read the poem “How I Give,” by London S a student from MLK Academy. In her poem London lists ways in which she could help her community. I give cards on birthdays/I give canned goods/ I give advice to those who need help/ I give friendship. Inspired by London’s poem students wrote poems about the special things they can give to the people in their lives.

I give my sister chips to buy with my money.
I give kindness to people.
I give my family love.
I give toys.
I give cookies.
I give Minnie Mouse bows.
I give my sister a new toy.
