“Getting Dreamy”

Do you have a dreamlife? When you fall asleep at night, do you dream? Do you have dreams that are funny, or ridiculous, comforting, or scary? Maybe you are someone who likes to daydream – gazing off into space imagining interesting things to do and places to go. Dreams are what we discussed and wrote about last Friday at Swift Elementary School. We thought about writing a list of dreamy ideas, or writing a poem that tells the story of a dream. Unicorns, candy, gumballs, “pokemon,” “roblox,” and money showed up in many of the students’ poems. Although it was hard to choose from so many great “Dream Poems,” it really made me smile to see so many students getting down to the business of writing!

Gumball Man Kimar

I dream of gum balls
coming out of the sky
and why Because I
like it and it hits you
on the head and
you can eat them
in the sky and
my name would be
gumball man I
would be famous
and on the channel
4 news gum man.

I dream of gum balls falling out of the sky.
I dream that me and my friends got
to do whatever we want in school
and we get to touch anything
and that I could be the teacher and if that
wouldn’t happen then I wish that there was
no school for 10,000 years. And that I didn’t
have to go to work and my parents do
and they gave me their money.

I had a scary dream. It was
so scary. The dream was a
volcano exploding and I was
in a store and I thought it
was a fire but it was
not, it was lava! I got
scared! but then a
person came in the
elevator suddenly the
elevator stopped because
the lava went inside
the hole in the elevator!
