“Gems”

hot water rinsing
you off or
cold rain tickling
your skin.
Would you like to see
a cloud showering giant skittles?
or necklaces of sparkles?

my flowers grow
in the backyard
they grow brighter
and brighter. one is
a daisy. one is
a sunflower. one is
a rose. I smell them
every day. they’re
beautiful.

I taste shiny gems
I hear gems cracking into pieces
I see a shining gem. I have to put
on glasses. I am smelling the
shiny gems. I am touchIng
a gem. The gem is
making me blind and it is
so sparkly making me
want to shine like a
super star and have
a super shiny microphone.

It’s sweet like a[n] apple drink
some are on sticks, some are
soft as blueberry foam. some are hard
you have to lick them.
some are small wrapped in a colorful
smooth wrapper
easy to take off. they all
taste sweet. my favorite is
a strawberry lollipop.

every time I see a cloud
I imagine a war zone
or a mansion in the sky
made of fluffy cotton balls
soft enough to sleep inside of.
An ice dragon
blowing rain out of its mouth.

summer feels like flowers
growing in my head, spreading.
but flowers change my life!
I love flowers. I just make
wishes with dandelions.
There are roses, tulips, and
violets. I love those.
And daisies.

summer makes me think of fun
feels like a waterslide at the pool
feet in the hot sand sounds like
somebody crunching
on some chips.

I dream of a cake
I dream when I sleep
I dream of a
