Food Poems: “It makes me feel like I’m in heaven…”

Food! Glorious food! This week we talked about all of the delicious foods we love to eat, and used our five senses to describe what it is about them that makes our mouths water and our bellies grumble. Delicacies like strawberry cheesecake, dumplings and cake were at the top of our lists. Enjoy this week’s poets!

3rd Grade

The Mess Neia Hinkle

I like food
the food I like the most is
strawberry cheesecake
it looks like an upside down
cake
it tastes like strawberry cheese
it smells like strawberry cheese
I go to the mall to eat it
A memory is eating cheese
it makes me feel
like I’m in heaven

Dumplings Nia Lyles

Dumplings look like chicken
wrapped in a blanket
And it tastes like chicken
wrapped in noodles
and it smells so fresh
And I get it from the Chinese place
A blanket
a white blanket

Cheese Cake Monster Janiyah Turner

Cheese cake is a good food
it puts me in the mood
“Food, food, food!”
said the monster
“Where is my cheese cake?
It is my mate cake.”
It is good with fruit and cheese on the bottom
it is delectable and tasty.

2nd Grade

Cake Zabella Rudolph

Cake looks like 2 circles on top of each other
it tastes good
it smells delicious
I get it from Walmart
I wish it would rain cakes
so I could lay in it.
