Family Celebrity Poems

This week at Dulles we wrote poems inspired by Ashley Bryan’s poem “My Dad”. We started off by sharing some favorite memories of a family member we admire, and what it is that makes them amazing. Students then wrote a poem dedicated to that person and celebrated what they love most about them. Some students couldn’t pick just one person, and wrote about as many people as they could fit on their paper. Enjoy this weeks poems!

Something amazing my nana can do is sew.

Some of my favorite memories with my mom is when I helped braid her hair.

and we laugh with joy.
